Going to the cinema is part of family life and an enjoyable one at that! However, seeing a flick is no longer a cheap night out….in fact it is anything but. With tickets costing between $20-$25 dollars (plus popcorn and drinks!) it can cost up to $100 for a family of four to go to the movies!!
But here at Treasure hunting Aussie Mums we think that you should NEVER EVER have to pay full price to go to the cinema. In fact with a bit of preplanning you can cut the costs down by half – turning an expensive night out into fun for all the family.

Group (Daily Deals)
You must have lived on Mars if you have not heard of the daily deal sharing website Groupon. But Groupon isn’t just for restaurant vouchers or manicures…you can also get cheap cinema tickets through daily deal websites.
The best place to start is at All The Deals – this site is a deal aggregator – meaning it takes all the deals from different sites and puts them in one place!
From there, search ‘cinema’ in the search box and see what current deals come up. You can also filter by area to see local deals.
Groupon seems to have a deal with Hoyts – so you can often pick up tickets for $12.50 or 2 for $25.
This is a great idea! Ticket Bounty is Australia’s first and only movie ticket deal website. Get tickets from as cheap as $5.95 online at cinemas across Australia. Simply go to the site Ticket Bounty, browse the films you want to watch, pay and print your ticket and take it to the cinema. Simple as that!
